Anne Rooks, LPC

It is my mission to be an agent of change in your journey of self-discovery.  After more than 25 years of experience, I know you are the most accurate source of information about you.  Therefore, getting to know and understand yourself is essential for thriving and surviving in challenging times.  My journey as a Clinician has included working with the most severe mental illnesses, Depression, Anxiety, Grief & Loss, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Substance Abuse.  In addition, I have facilitated numerous groups including:  Domestic Violence, Anger Management, Self-Esteem Building, Stress Management and Cultural Diversity Training.

Treatment Planning is primarily based on individualized evidence based clinical strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused Therapy. Therefore, using an eclectic approach, we will work to determine what works best for you.  Finally, one of the most important goals is to help you feel safe not only in therapy but also in your environment.

I am a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Master Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Supervising Counselor for approved candidates for licensure.  I worked as a therapist and Director of Adult Services of the Mental Health Center of Madison County for 24 years, and was instrumental in developing and implementing programs to support and facilitate recovery of clients.  In addition, I worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor with Vocational Rehabilitation Services for 11 years assisting clients with adjustment to disability and reclaiming functional ability to return to employment.  Despite the length of time, I still have a tremendous passion to a help you reach your treatment goals.
